About Palmer's Boutique

Palmer’s Boutique New York was founded 50 years ago by my grandmother, Margaret Palmer.

Before starting Palmer’s, Margaret spent years working in an established clothing store in New York. She loved fashion, but quickly realized she wanted to do things differently. She believed women deserved thoughtful guidance, reliable quality, and clothing that supported who they were, not pieces that tried to define them.

In 1975, she began building what would become Palmer’s Boutique New York.

From the very beginning, Palmer’s was shaped by relationships, trust, and consistency. Margaret believed that true style came from comfort, confidence, and care, not from chasing trends. That philosophy became the foundation of everything that followed.

My mother, Susan Palmer, grew up watching this vision take shape. Over time, she learned the importance of detail, responsibility, and staying true to your values. When she took over, she carried Palmer’s forward for more than 30 years, strengthening the brand while keeping its heart intact.

Today, my grandmother is 82 and has taken a gentle step back. My mother, now 57, continues to guide and support me as I take on the responsibility of leading Palmer’s into its next chapter.

I’m Claire Palmer, the third generation, 32 years old. I grew up surrounded by fabrics, conversations, and long-standing customer relationships. From my grandmother, I learned patience and respect. From my mother, I learned consistency and care. Together, they taught me that Palmer’s was never just about clothing, it was about understanding women and earning their trust over time.

Taking over Palmer’s Boutique New York is not about changing what works.

It’s about continuing what has mattered for 50 years.

Our promise remains the same today as it was when it began: timeless pieces, thoughtful quality, and personal attention, passed down through generations.

Palmer’s Boutique New York is more than fashion.

It is a family legacy.

And one I am proud to carry forward.
